Islamic University is one of the major public universities in Bangladesh and the largest seat of higher education in the south-west part of the country. This website started its journey on the eve of Admission Test for the Bachelor Program under the academic session 2009-2010. The attempts of making the Application Forms, Prospectus, Results, Notices and the like issues available online is surely the university’s step towards digitalization of its activities in compliance with the present government’s promise to build Digital Bangladesh by the year 2021.

 

The university began its academic activities in the 1985-86 academic year with 300 students enrolled in four departments under two faculties - two departments under the Faculty of Theology and Islamic Studies, and two departments under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science. The main objective has been to provide for instructions in theology and other fields of Islamic studies and comparative jurisprudence and such other branches of learning at graduate and post-graduate levels and make provisions for research including post-doctoral research and training for advancement and dissemination of knowledge. Today, in 2009, the university is active in teaching and research in as many as 22 academic departments, including various fields of modern science and technology, under five faculties. Our vision is to extend the scope and increase opportunities for higher education and research in every branch of human knowledge and ensure the quality all along.

 

I hope that visitors to this website will get an overall idea about the academic, administrative and extracurricular activities of the university. The site is expected to get richer by incorporating many more facts and information in course of time.
